MEET THE PRESENTERS
Darlene M. Davis is the Principal owner of Davis Associates, CPAs. She created the Church Accounting & Clergy Tax Seminar® out of purpose. As an early teenager growing up in the church she joyfully accepted her assigned church duties of Sunday school treasurer, finance department officer and ultimately church comptroller. She has operated on the front line of church business and currently serves as a trusted advisor to the clergy and the church. By the time she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Louis University she knew that God had ordained her steps to educate His people on the proper handling of His money.
Davis is a Certified Public Accountant with nearly 30 years of progressive accounting, audit, consulting and tax experience. She is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and success with the church community. As she leads the Church Accounting & Clergy Tax Seminar® throughout the United States, she would like to share her knowledge and this information with you to help you become a better steward of God’s money.
Davis has been blessed of God to have the oratory presence and ability to take an otherwise bland, complicated topic, bring it to life in an understandable manner and make it relevant to everyday people. Darlene Davis is recognized as an expert in her field as evidenced by numerous awards, accomplishments and honors such as Financial Services Advocate of the Year by the United States Small Business Administration, The CPA Women To Watch Award by the American Institute of CPAs in conjunction with the Missouri Society of CPAs, MBE of the Year - Financial Services by the St. Louis Minority Business Council, Most Influential Women in Business by the St. Louis Business Journal, Phenomenal Woman of Metropolitan St. Louis by the Center for Racial Harmony and Best Accountant nominee by the St. Louis Small Business Monthly.
Mona L. Jefferson has over thirty (30) years of experience in tax preparation and financial consulting. She lends her expertise as Tax Manager of Davis Associates, CPAs. Jefferson realizes that God has entrusted her with this knowledge. Therefore, she sees it as a ministry. She works with local church leaders helping them to bring their accounting practices in line with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations and assists them will all tax-related issues they may have.
Mona Jefferson considers it a wonderful privilege doing God’s work. Of all the businesses in existence, she sees none more important than the local church. While the local church's primary purpose is to minister to the souls of its congregants, at the same time it is a business. Her desire is to see them operate with a spirit of excellence in all of their financial matters.
Mona Jefferson’s areas of expertise include:
- Tax Preparation for Ministers
- Electronic Recordkeeping
- Optimizing Payroll Packages for Ministers
Mona Jefferson has spent the last fourteen years working with churches in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. She realizes that it is now time for her to reach out in a broader way and assist churches nationally with the knowledge God has entrusted unto her.
